Memorial Day.....

Others can and will say things much more eloquently than I can, so I'll just leave this here.....

Haven't seen anybody selling poppies this year, or I would have bought one, just like my Dad taught me to.

Thought  I'd add this pic of the USNS Mercy departing Los Angeles on 15 May.

Got dusty in here when I first saw it.....

    1. And take care of our Veterans. Many came back "whole-of-body", but with other issues.

  5. Missing the poppies this year, sadly most don't seem to know what they stand for...

  6. I miss seeing sailors in whites manning the rails. Jungle camo is the current naval trend. I know it's picky on Memorial Day, but much can be said for tradition, DRJIM.

    1. Well gee, LL, don't cha know we're AT WAR with the corona/COVID/kung flu virus?!?

But I agree. It would have been nice to see them in whites, or even blues, when they rendered honors to the Iowa.

Still, the picture made me get all misty eyed when I saw it.

Keep it civil, please....

Gloomy, Gritty, Grey Day

At 1700 local it's as described in the headline; 30*F, 88% RH, completely overcast, snowing like crazy (small flakes, but lots of them)...
