  1. There were millions fewer people there. I was born at Redondo Beach. We lived directly across the street from the ocean. It wasn't crowded and was close to wherever you needed to go.

Things changed. Not for the better. Those were "happy days".

  2. About 20 years ago, after I got divorced, I lived in Redondo on Catalina Ave. Literally "Steps to the beach". It was nice and peaceful during the week, and a nuthouse on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and holidays.

When I first moved out here in 1982 traffic was much less, and you could get places much faster. Even in the 7 years I've been here, my "time-to-Iowa_ has gone from about 25 minutes to 45 minutes.

I will NOT miss the congestion here!

  3. Oh, I do miss those cars. When the government ordered that stupid 'cash for clunkers' program I was angry. Now it makes me think of when Isis destroyed those giant sand/clay statues in the Mid East. The destruction of history.

Hope you all have a blessed week.

Keep it civil, please....

Gloomy, Gritty, Grey Day

At 1700 local it's as described in the headline; 30*F, 88% RH, completely overcast, snowing like crazy (small flakes, but lots of them)...
