I can't say Thank You enough, and although I didn't serve, I admire and honor all who did.
Thank you all for your service, sacrifice, and patriotism.
Admiral Yamamoto infamously said "You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a man with a rifle behind every blade of grass."
And so it should be, a nation of riflemen....
Been working on this post since right after Thanksgiving. I'm making very good progress on the Fisher, and will most likely power it up...
Thank you for remembering us. I'd love to go back & do it all again (well, maybe a bit less hostile incoming), but I'd settle for a reunion with my shipmates once the Covid crap gets past.
ReplyDeleteI owe it to all veterans to remember. My Dad used to sell the VFW poppies, and we always honored Veteran's Day.

DeleteI might not have enlisted had the draft or the economy not nudged me.
I'm glad they did though.
I take some comfort in that a large part of my career was "In The Rear With The Gear" as a civvie contractor. So while I didn't serve, I helped provide a lot of the systems that Our Guys used.
