Early Chrysler "FirePower" Hemi Time-Lapse Rebuild

Another great time-lapse rebuild from Hagerty, this time of an early Chrysler "FirePower" HEMI!

I'll bet it really sings with that exhaust system.

Watch it in full screen for best viewing.

  1. 331??? Doesn't look like a 392 to me.

  2. Most likely. The bore size is pretty small. I noticed that right away when they were boring it out, along with the fact that it's a "low deck" block.

So if not a 331, then a 354, at most.

    1. I think they were blueprinting it, maybe boring it .30 over... And agree the largest it could be is a 354.

    2. I'm just curious as to what they're going to put it in.

  3. Wonder if they were setting it up to power a boat from the exhausts.

    1. Most likely a street rod of some sort. The video was sponsored by Hagerty, the largest insurer of classic and collectible cars.

  4. So far, the only one they started was a flat head that they installed into an old truck.

And people in the comments section are starting to ask them when are they going to do a video of these engines lighting off the first time!

  5. Too bad for me, I have no mechanical skills. There are plenty of times when I wish I did.

    1. Learned mine from my Dad, who was a Tool and Die Maker. He did woodworking to relax, but I was more interested in learning how to make things out of steel and aluminum.

Keep it civil, please....

Interesting Flight Path

Couldn't determine which aircraft flew this, but it caught my eye...
