He would have been one-hundred years old today had he not passed away in 1991.
And like most adult sons, I miss him every day, and long to talk to him.
He taught me a lot of things, and for that I grateful.
Happy birthday, Dad!

Thinking about getting some more 22LR for my little Marlin semi-auto. I already have a good stock of 22LR, but they're all Wolf and Fio...
I feel the pain. My Dad would have been 100 next month. We lost him in 1982 - too young to die IMHO.
ReplyDeleteHe taught me to build a crystal set when I was 9. Toilet paper roll coil, gallium arsenide catwhisker crystal and a set of old USN headphones he had. Lousy bandwidth, but I loved it and listened to it every night going to sleep. Still miss him.
Lost my Dad in 1988. He would have been 108 this year. I think of him all the time. What is sad is that there are fewer and fewer people who I can share stories of my Dad with.
ReplyDeleteLost my dad in 2011; still keep thinking of things I'd like to ask him about. It's said that every time an old person dies, it's like a library burning down.
ReplyDeleteSome not so old people, too. May your memories of your dad be only good ones.
