Annnnnnd....We Got *ZERO* Snow

It snowed a bit, but it didn't stick. From looking at how the storm formed up and progressed South, it looks like the heavy precip started about 10 miles South of here, and proceeded to dump a LOT of snow on the Denver/Boulder Metro area. Like up to thirty inches in some areas.

EDIT: Forgot to add that we received about .2" of rain, which pushed the monthly rain total to 1.07".

So it's 50* and sunny today, with more rain forecast for the coming week, and we ducked a BIG one...

    1. Thanks, Linda. I feel for the people South of us!

  2. If you were to pay the liberal sponsored weather tax - say 70% of your income - I'm sure it would snow on you.

    1. Not if you live outside a Major Metro Area! One of the in-laws missed Thanksgiving dinner a couple of years ago, as he was working for the County, and had to go drive a snowplow.

  4. Wickenburg, AZ remains dry & 89 deg. today. We had a big desert "twister" come through a couple of days ago that blew over the trash bins, but no real damage.

    1. My son saw the biggest Dust Devil he's ever seen the other day. Said it was as big at the warehouse building they were near.

  5. Relatives in the Florence area got hammered. I'm just happy to see some snow in the high country. The South Platte looks like a ditch.

    1. The NWS said the area down by the Palmer Divide would get hit hard, and it looks like they were correct. All the drainage channels are full here, and the Poudre looks fairly high. They must divert a lot more of it than I know about if it isn't helping the South Platte.

  6. And this is why they are called 'weatherguessers.'

My sinuses and my wife's back are better forecasters than the forecasters. We're more accurate on intensity of rain, intensity of winds, severity of incoming hurricanes and stuff.

Glad you didn't get pummeled. It's all because you got the Ariens, dontcha know.

    1. HAH! Got My Mojo Workin', eh? My knees can tell when a front goes through, and they were creakin' away when this one passed through. The heavy snow missed us by 10~12 miles.

    1. If you're like us, you need the rain. The last gasp of Winter has passed us.

  8. We are in the same boat about 300 miles south of the Old NFO. The front that brought Colorado that weather brought us about a half inch of rain last night (Saturday) and we are forecast to get more Monday night through Wednesday.

The well of some friends of our daughter north of us in Goldthwaite, Texas is going dry and pumping sand. Ouch!

  9. Would have been happy to share. Some large branches came down across our walkway here at condo paradise Centennial. Saturday AM the power went out for about 11 hours. Looks like this location loses some cell towers when the power goes out, so using the cell phone as a hotspot wouldn't feed the laptop, and barely loaded the Xcel web site on the phone. A couple of neighbors whittled a path through the limbs on Sunday, and that location is mostly cleaned up except of the actual arborist work.

    1. I saw you lost power down there for quite a while. We lost a huge limb off our ash tree last Spring in a snow like you got hit with. And we got another .2" of rain last night. Nice, slow, steady drizzle all night long.

Keep it civil, please....

Gloomy, Gritty, Grey Day

At 1700 local it's as described in the headline; 30*F, 88% RH, completely overcast, snowing like crazy (small flakes, but lots of them)...
