Very interesting article in "Wired" magazine this month about the world-wide, off-the-books, underground economy.
And I don't mean just the knock-off things like CD's and software.

It exists all over the world... Go to the Alleys in Naha, Okinawa, behind the train station at Shinjuku, any flea market in the USA...
ReplyDeleteYeah, I've seen that, too. The TRW Amateur Radio swap meet in Redondo Beach is a good example of it. The gist of the article was that it's MUCH bigger than anybody wants to admit. Some large corporations are even setting up middlemen so that they can get their name-brand products out to this market.
