Got my newest issue of "American Rifleman" a few days ago, and they have their "Top Ten Handguns of All Time" listed.
Of course, the Colt 1911 was number 1!

ReplyDeleteThe first pistol I ever fired was my Dad's GI 1911. It was loose and rattly, but it went BANG! every time.I'd still have it, but I left it with Dad when I moved out here to Kalifornia. My left-wing, tree-hugging sister GAVE it to the police after Dad passed away because "Only the police and the Army should have guns!".

I always figured if a 1911 was good enough to keep my Dad alive in the South Pacific during WWII, it was plenty good enough for me!
I have a '43 1911A1 that rattles a bit but runs nonstop.
