Seventy-Eight Degrees!

And for my friend SiG, 19% humidity!

Just gorgeous today, and I'm out in the garage painting some small parts, and dropping the exhaust manifold off the Supra so I can get at some bolts located behind it. Good thing I decided to do this, as three of the seven bolts were almost "Finger Loose", and the two end ports were blowing exhaust out. The other four bolts came out very easily, and were soon to be loose. The manifold is mounted on studs screwed into the cylinder head, and "Prevailing Torque" nuts hold it to the studs. All seven studs came out, but the nuts stayed on them. I'm having a difficult time getting the nuts off the studs, and might just buy new ones, as they're still available from Toyota.

The infamous Last Transistor for the Fisher RS-2010 got here yesterday, so I'll be installing those later today. I saved these two for last as they have an "extra" transistor (NOT on the schematic diagram) just "scabbed in there", and I still have to document what number transistor it is, and exactly how it's connected.

Hope you enjoy the upcoming weekend, as March will be going out next week accompanied by rain and snow here.

Keep your head on a swivel, as with the warmer weather coming, things might get spicy....!

  1. Yes....but I'd be willing to to bet old man winter takes at least one more swing before hanging it up for the season.

    1. Yep, you got that right! We've had heavy, wet snow in April, resulting in lots of good sized limbs breaking off all over town. One year it was so bad that the National Guard was called in to help.

  2. Make hay while the sun shines and all that . . .

We had a warm beginning of the week - 90/50 but it will be going back to normal spring in the next few days - 80/45.

  3. This UNseasonably warm, and it starts cooling down Saturday. Well be back to 40's~50's days and low 30's down to mid 20's.

Gotta just LOVE Springtime in the Rockies. We have tulips and daffodils coming up, the roses are getting green stalks, and many other signs of life. I grew up in Northern Illinois, and then moved to SoCal. I'd forgotten how much I like having all four seasons, just like Back Home!

  4. We need more snow pack from Longs Peak to Wyoming. While I'm enjoying the weather, I know we will need the water.

    1. This Winter and last Winter were pretty dry here. Our first Winter was also mild, and then we had three "good" Winters.
Should be some decent precip coming this weekend! Check out "Denver and Front Range Weather" on FakeBook. The guys lives in Greeley, and is a native. His reports are more accurate than the NWS because he understand the local weather.
