Big Updates to The Supra Files

Wellllll.....SLW, The Dog, and myself were going to head up the Ames Monument in Wyoming last week, BUT....the weather forecast was for 75*, so I went out and "Laid Some Paint" on the Supra. We may not have another day like this for the next six months, so I've been wrapping up any work, like painting, that has a minimum temperature. I've already had to go back and redo some of my work because of poor prep before painting, so now I'm going by the book.

Maybe next week.....

So it's pretty frenetic around here getting ready for Winter. Got the yard "winterized", and got the house in Condition YOKE, and I reconfigured the garage so SLW can park her car in the garage.

So how did the painting project come out?

Better than I expected.

How it looked before.

And all three pedal assemblies have been rebuilt. Powder coated the metal parts, new bushings, lube, and pedal pads.

Clutch pedal before.

 The Three Amigos, Part II.

SLW asked if they were some of the new parts I've been getting from Japan. Yep, they look that good.

Plenty more to do, but the pile of refurbished parts is steadily growing larger, and the pile of parts needing refurbishment is getting quite small.

Enjoy the beautiful Fall weather this upcoming weekend, and keep yourself in Condition Yellow while out and about.

  1. We were near the Ames Monument when we saw the UP 4014 stopped on Harriman Crossing. Driving to the Monument on the road from Tie Siding has some unusual sights including miles of the old style jack fence.

    1. I remember you telling me that. It's on Hermosa Road not too much further from where we saw 4014. There's the remains of an old turntable there, and an old cemetery that SLW will want to stop at.

  2. Very nice work.

I always wanted to restore a car, especially after watching "Project Binky." And get a powder-coating setup. Oh, well, yet another dream I fulfill by watching people like you.

    1. I haven't taken one down this far, and built it back up, in about 40 years! My skillset have vastly improved since then, and I find it rewarding to do.
      Either that or build models!

  3. Yeah....come Nov 1 and the EBT cards haven't been "reloaded" with tax dollars and the parasites can't buy their soda and junk food things will likely get sporty.

    1. I'm planning on staying as far away from Denver as I can....

  4. Smart man. Plenty of time to 'do' outside things, not much time to get painting done within the 'window'...

  5. Yeah, been pretty busy this year. Way better than my "Lost Year". And of course, all things come to a skidding halt when the grandkids are here!
