We got .77" of rain today, which brings us to 1.5" for the month so far. Had a hail storm go through and it dumped enough small hail to cover the yard and street. Pretty soft hail, so no damage, but Luna didn't know what to make of it. I opened the door to let her out, and when se saw the hail bouncing off the patio she recoiled, jumped back a couple of feet, and gave me a "You're kidding, right?" look.
So, it's been a bit too cold and too humid to do much in the garage besides organize things and clean up the area. Going to be in the 70's~80's over the weekend, so I'll be able to jump back in on things like removing the steering rack, and the rusty bits on the left front corner of the car.
Keep dry, and keep your head on a swivel!
Seems this weather pattern is causing big problems in other areas. Here, exactly the kind of slow rain that soaks the ground and stays. Crossed the Poudre yesterday; still well within the banks.
ReplyDeleteSaturday will be at the Wheatridge, CO Historical Park for a May Day Celebration. 100 years ago the White tribe was working that land. The area along Clear Creek from Golden to the confluence with the South Platte supported different grass than the rest of the area. Very fertile. Buildings remain our ancestors built including a sod house, now plastered to preserve it.
Hope you have a safe trip! There's so much "Everyday Life History" out here it's just amazing.
DeleteIs this the regular rain season in your place or really five sigma weather?
ReplyDeleteOur summer thunderstorm season hasn't really cranked up, but it's closer to being started some years.
Ackk, "closer to being started than some years."
DeleteMay is our rainiest month, with around 3" or so. We hardly had any rain in April, but we did get some snow, so that help's the moisture level. It's **very** dry here, as you've seen me post, so the precip is welcome.
DeleteWe've had 5+ inches in the last week...sigh...
ReplyDeleteHoly Smokes! The most I remember here is about 3-1/2" in two days.
