Too late to post tonight about superstructure tour

I'm beat.

We went all the way up to the "O-8" level, which involved going up a lot of narrow, steep ladders.

Got to see the plot room, the CEC (Combat Engagement Center), some rooms with radar gear in them, "CONN2", and the ship's whistle.

Finally finished recapping the "A5A1" card from the URR-74 receiver that's been giving us fits.

I'll post the pix I took today after I get back from a radio event we're doing tomorrow in rememberence of the cease fire that "ended" our involvement in Viet Nam.

'Night all!

  1. Sounds like a fascinating (if exhausting) day. Impatiently awaiting the pix. :)

  5. Thanks, everybody.

Just got really busy doing Home Owner Stuff, and working on replacing the tantalum capacitors on that damn "A5" circuit board.

Three of them were buried under some wiring, and took about two hours to change, while the rest weren't quite so bad.

The bad news is that swapping them all out didn't fix the problem, so back to square 1, and another email to the very helpful people at PCS Associates.

Keep it civil, please....

Gloomy, Gritty, Grey Day

At 1700 local it's as described in the headline; 30*F, 88% RH, completely overcast, snowing like crazy (small flakes, but lots of them)...
