My Dad's Birthday

He would have been one-hundred years old today had he not passed away in 1991.

And like most adult sons, I miss him every day, and long to talk to him.

He taught me a lot of things, and for that I grateful.

Happy birthday, Dad!

  1. I feel the pain. My Dad would have been 100 next month. We lost him in 1982 - too young to die IMHO.

He taught me to build a crystal set when I was 9. Toilet paper roll coil, gallium arsenide catwhisker crystal and a set of old USN headphones he had. Lousy bandwidth, but I loved it and listened to it every night going to sleep. Still miss him.

  2. Lost my Dad in 1988. He would have been 108 this year. I think of him all the time. What is sad is that there are fewer and fewer people who I can share stories of my Dad with.

  3. Lost my dad in 2011; still keep thinking of things I'd like to ask him about. It's said that every time an old person dies, it's like a library burning down.

Some not so old people, too. May your memories of your dad be only good ones.

Keep it civil, please....

Gloomy, Gritty, Grey Day

At 1700 local it's as described in the headline; 30*F, 88% RH, completely overcast, snowing like crazy (small flakes, but lots of them)...
